Every space tells a story. And at Powerhouse Parramatta, that story is one of scale, craft, and culture. We partnered with Lendlease and Genton to deliver tiling that balances precision with purpose - quiet details that anchor a landmark built for generations to come.

As one of the largest cultural projects in Australia in recent years, Powerhouse Parramatta is more than just a building. It’s a place where knowledge, community, and creativity converge. For our contracting division, it was an opportunity to bring precision, durability, and craft to a project that will serve generations to come.
Our Scope
Working alongside Infrastructure NSW, Lendlease Construction, and local architects Genton, BetterTiles delivered tiling to the internal wet areas of this landmark development. While these spaces may seem understated, they play a crucial role in both the function and experience of the museum. Every tile needed to perform - technically, aesthetically, and sustainably.
The Details That Matter
From crisp porcelain panels to bold mosaic accents, the tiling reflects the balance of practicality and design intent. In bathrooms and amenities, smooth finishes create a sense of calm and cleanliness, while vibrant pops of colour in mosaic work provide moments of energy and contrast. Together, these details anchor the building’s interior experience. Understated yet essential.
"Design isn’t just about what’s built today, it’s about carrying forward the stories that came before." At Powerhouse Parramatta, every detail is part of a larger cultural thread. A place where history, innovation, and community meet. The tiling work grounds the architecture in something lasting: surfaces that hold memory, invite connection, and create spaces that embrace both past and future. Here, design becomes a living archive, not just seen, but felt in the everyday.

Craft Meets Scale
The scale of Powerhouse Parramatta demanded precision. Every corner, junction, and grout line was an exercise in consistency, ensuring the finished result not only met the design vision but also stood up to the demands of heavy daily use. It’s here that our contracting team’s expertise came to the forefront, turning material into architecture, detail into design.
Looking Ahead
Powerhouse Parramatta is set to become a cultural anchor for Western Sydney, and BetterTiles is honoured to have left our mark in its foundation. For us, tiling isn’t just about finishes, it’s about shaping spaces where people gather, learn, and experience.
As the museum prepares to open its doors, the tiled surfaces we laid will quietly support the building’s life, durable, precise, and crafted to last.
