Every space tells a story. At HARBOURSIDE by Mirvac, that story is written in our custom Fusion Stone Savannah tiles. We partnered with Mirvac to create interiors and amenity spaces that balance quiet luxury with everyday resilience.

The new Harbourside development is set to transform the waterfront at Darling Harbour into a vibrant mix of homes, offices, retail and public spaces: a 42-storey residential tower, a restored waterfront promenade, laneways of restaurants and shops, a brand-new public park and plaza, and a suite of public open spaces designed by Snøhetta & Hassell.
It’s not just a rebuild, it’s a reboot of what “harbour-side living” means in Sydney, reimagining the old retail centre into a dynamic precinct that honours place, country and community. And in that reboot, we had one special job: give the interiors of the residences - especially the amenities - a floor that speaks the same language as the harbour.
“Inspired and infused by nature, our architectural response fosters a sense of connection and generosity, featuring diverse public spaces, including a new waterfront park that invites both residents and visitors to engage with the landscape and each other.” – Liz Westgarth, Managing Director at Hassell

BetterTiles were asked to design a custom tile solution specifically for Harbourside which brought to life our Fusion Stone Savannah tile with scored lines engineered to evoke the feel of classic subway-style tiling, but with the strength, proportions, and surface character suited for modern living.
Alongside this our Savannah-look porcelain tile was chosen for continuity and ease of specification. The combination gives amenity areas a quietly luxurious presence: a surface that looks natural, feels solid underfoot, yet has enough subtle movement and texture so it doesn’t feel cold or “catalogue-plain.”
For us, Harbourside is a proving ground. The Fusion Stone Savannah shows that you can have both resilience and refinement. Detail and durability. Calm surface and confident character.
If you’re an architect, designer or builder looking to specify tile for interiors where quality, longevity and quiet luxury matter - from wellness zones to shared amenities - there’s a reason to consider custom solutions. Because sometimes off-the-shelf just doesn’t tell the full story.
